This genus will produce small succulents with disc-shaped brightly coloured blooms. They are either annuals or biennials from South Africa. Grow them in a light soil with full sun. You can propagate from seeds in the spring.

sow in sealed container in bag, 15-20d to germinate. 20-30c. Sown some seed in spring 2001. Got some plants that I planted out in containers and in borders. Did not do well. Just do not have enough sun in the garden for these plants. Will do well in a sunny rock garden
