Lesser celandine, Pilewort

These plants which grow from small bubletts have now invested my garden throught the compost and is spread throughout the garden. The thrive in shade damp conditions.

Hardy: the plant may tolerate temperatures down to about -10C or 13F.This is a very beautiful mat-forming perennial, the yellow-white flowers will appear in the spring. The foliage is dark glossy green. This plant is often found in the wild in Northern Europe. STEM: Angled upwards, base rooting. ROOT: Fibrous, with many small, swollen tubers. HAIRS: Absent STIPULES: Absent LEAF-STALK: Base broad, overlapping other stalks. BRACTS: Absent FLOWER STALK: Much longer than flower.
