Hardy: the plant may tolerate temperatures down to about -10C or 13F.
Cut back after flowering, both to prevent self-seeding and to encourage a second flush of flowers.
sow seed at 15-20c on surface of damp seed compost. Do not cover seed. Place in propagator until after germination, 21-30d. Do not exclude light. Transplant into pots. Plant 60cm apart. Alternatively sow late summer in cool greenhouse and overwinter plants in cool, well lit conditions. Plant out in spring. This produces larger plants.
Propagate by division in spring or autumn
