iris blue to purple
The blue iris is a delicate Iris which will appear in the spring. The flowers are soft blue to a striking deep purple. You can plant bulbs in small groups of 6 to 8 in well drained soil about 12cms deep and 6cms apart in the early autumn to create a beautiful spring display.
The Yellow flag iris is extremely vigorous. This species will produce blooms which are a pale to deep yellow and sometimes have a dark purple or brown zone radiating from the centre of the petals. The leaves are attractive and glossy green. This plant is often found in the wild in Northern Europe
The iris aquatic is a hardy robust vigorous perennial blooming in the spring and summer. They prefer a boggy or aquatic environment but can adapt themselves to border conditions if the soil is kept constantly moist. They make a good cut flower.
The spanish iris species is a rather stalked clump with lance-shaped green leaves. The flowers are blue-purple, yellow or white with large blooms in the late spring to the summer.
The iris light purple is also a vigorous, rhizomatous plant with light purple flowers borne on well-branched stems in late spring to early summer.
The Iris eyecatcher is a lovely dwarf variety for pots, rockeries or front of border. The flowers have a delicate look to them, the petals are patterned with rich blue and yellow stripes and dark blue spotting.
It is ideal for late winter, pushing through the cold soil to brighten the garden. Iris ‘Eyecatcher’ is a lovely dwarf variety for pots, rockeries or front of border. It grows to 20cm (8”). Spread 8cm (3”).
