An upright South African summer-flowering corm. Bears evergreen, strap-like foliage. Arching stems bear long tassels of tubular or bell-shaped deep pink, red or purple-white flowers. ‘Album’ has white flowers. It reaches about 2m in height; spreads .25-.5m Frost hardy: the plant can tolerate temperatures down to about -5C or 23F. Dies down partially in winter.
