Creeping barberry
These are evergreen shrubs which have short racemes of fragrant, rounded, bell-shaped, yellow flowers on tall species; some cultivars have deep fissured bark. They are fully to half hardy and will prefer shade or semi-shade with fertile well drained but not too dry soil. You can propagate the species by leaf-bud or semi-ripe cuttings in the summer or by seed in the autumn.
